Tomorrow is the big day! If the RSVPs are any indication we will be hosting Fort Worth’s biggest alleycat ever– and that means we’ll end up donating a huge amount of food to the Tarrant Area Food Bank!
Here are some answers to our most frequently asked questions about the event:
When does it start? We’ll start the festivities at 3 p.m. at the shop.
What should I bring? Your bike, and a bag/backpack/pannier/trailer/basket/whatever to carry groceries in. It should be big enough for about 10 moderately sized food items. A helmet and a lock would be good ideas, too.
What are the stops going to be? You’ll find out tomorrow.
How many stops will there be? 5
How far will we have to ride? That depends on the route you choose and the order you complete the stops… but we’re estimating between 23 and 27 miles.
What does the winner get? Again, you’ll find out tomorrow… but let us just say it’s an unusual trophy. In fact it will probably blow your mind.
Is there an entry fee? No. But you will need some money to buy items at each stop.
How much money should I bring? There will be some variation, but you can expect to spend between $10 and $15.
Is there an afterparty? Yes, we’ll make the 2-block trek to the T&P Tavern for snacks and drinks afterward.
That’s it… we’ll see you all tomorrow!
This maybe a dumb question. Bags should be empty? Should we bring food before?
You can bring food before if you want to donate extra… but you’ll be purchasing 8-10 items throughout the ride, so you’ll probably want your bag empty at the start.
Singles, fixed, or geared?
Yes.
