It’s been hot lately… really hot.
We were trying to figure out some cooler ways to enjoy cycling outings, and then inspiration struck: how about a ride to Fort Worth’s best swimmin’ hole, Burger’s Lake?
So, round up the whole family and join Bryan on Saturday, June 26, for a bike-ride-and-swim-a-thon. Burger’s Lake has plenty of shade, nice sandy beaches, and enjoyable water features. They also have a food and beverage stand, although you are welcome to bring drinks of your own if you can carry ‘em on your bike. No Pets or Alcoholic beverages allowed (Burger’s Lake rules, not ours. We love dogs… especially tipsy ones).
We’ll meet at the shop at 10 a.m. Cost for admission is $12 per person (there is a reduced rate for kids under 7, if you’ve got any that can make the 12-mile ride). RSVP to Bryan if you think you’re going to make it, and we’ll call ahead to make sure they are expecting us.
My son (Dakota 14) and I will try to make it there for the ride to the swimming hole. I’ve got a new bike on layaway that I’m hoping to get out this weekend. He just had a birthday so his excuse better not be equipment. Now we’ll see if he’s got the kahona’s to make it 12&12 miles to the lake and back…lol! See you next Saturday!
